The new Centering Process

THE CENTERING PROCESS

Being centered is the base for everything else.
When you are not centered, you are reactive.
Hooked like a fish on a rod.
Not fully present in the small now.

When you are centered, you are here.
Available.
Stable.
From this place, all other tools become possible to use.

PHYSICAL CENTER

Your physical center is located three fingers underneath your belly button, in the middle of the body.
This is your point of balance.
If someone would need to balance your body, it would be exactly here.

ENERGETIC CENTER

In the same way that you have a physical center, you also have an energetic center.
This is the center of the force of all your energy.

You have several bodies that you work with in daily life — physical, intellectual, emotional, and energetic.
Your energetic body surrounds you.
You feel it when someone enters your space.
You feel it when you sense timing with another person.
You feel it when you sense distance.

Being centered means bringing your energetic body back into its first position.

THE BASIC POSITION

Both of your feet are on the ground.
A slight split in the legs to create a stable stand.
Sometimes it helps to be barefoot.
If you are sitting, both feet remain on the ground.

From here, your attention moves to your physical center.
You take a breath into this center.
You release the breath through the nose.
This brings you more fully into the space.

LOCATING YOUR ENERGY

With eyes closed, you scan with your awareness to see where your energetic center is.
Often, part of your energy is in the past.
A memory.
A conversation.
An image.

You use your intention to gather this energy.
You bring it in front of your face.
You let it take the form of a ball the size of an orange.
Placed in front of your forehead.

GATHERING THE PRESENT

You scan the present moment.
Sounds.
Movement.
People.
Your surroundings.

All the places that draw your attention now.

With your intention, you gather all this attention and energy into the same orange ball in front of your face.

GATHERING THE FUTURE

You scan into the future.
Sometimes part of your energy is there.
Something that still needs to be done.
Something that is waiting ahead.

This too becomes part of the centering.

INTENTION

Your intention is what directs your energetic body.
You decide where your energy goes.
You decide where your attention is placed.

As you practice, you begin to discover how much influence you have over your own energetic body.

DAILY USE

The centering process is a practical tool for daily life.

Before holding space
Before speaking
Before coaching
Before meaningful conversations
Before choosing
Before acting

It is a simple practice that can stay with you for the rest of your life.
